Chris’s guest speaker on the Divorce Act, Minister of Justice the Honorable David Lametti P.C., M.P.

In 2018, Bill C-78, An Act to Amend the Divorce Act, entered the committee phase with the House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights.

Christopher ensured the Ontario Association for Family Mediation (OAFM) submitted its report in writing to Parliamentary Standing Committee.

In 2019, as President of the OAFM, Ottawa Chapter, Chris arranged for the federal Minister of Justice the Honorable David Lametti P.C., M.P., to deliver a keynote address to a provincial-level conference of mediators.

Minister Lametti discussed the exciting Divorce Act amendments which now make it law for you and your lawyer to consider using out-of-court dispute resolution such as Mediation and Collaborative Family Law. Chris ensured that the Minister knew the Ottawa mediators he was addressing had campaigned for these changes for over 30 years.
